Strictly necessary

These are required for authentication to function. Without them, signing in does not work.

• quekey.sid — carries your authorization session while a sign-in is in progress. Expires within hours.
• device_key — set only if you choose to trust a device, so that returning from it does not require a fresh out-of-band approval. Expires after one year, or when you clear it.

Analytics

This site measures its own traffic using General Query Analytics, a tool built and hosted by our parent company, Generalquery Technologies Private Limited. It sets no cookies and writes nothing to your device. It is not shared with an advertising network and is not used to build a profile of you.

• No identifier is stored on your device. There is no cookie, no localStorage entry, no fingerprint. The only thing ever read from your browser is an opt-out flag, and only if you set one yourself.
• Visitors are counted with a rotating hash. Your IP address and browser string are combined with a secret that is replaced every day, and only the resulting hash is kept. The IP itself is never written down, cannot be recovered from the hash, and the same person on two different days cannot be linked.
• What is recorded. The page address, its title, which site you arrived from, your country, device type, browser, operating system and window width. Never the query string, so nothing carried in a link — including an authorization code — reaches it.
• How long. Individual visits are kept for 400 days. Daily totals are kept indefinitely, and by then they are counts with nothing personal in them.
• Do Not Track is honoured. If your browser sends the signal, the visit is discarded on arrival rather than counted and hidden.

Embedded video

Videos on this site do not load until you press play. Until you do, no request is made to YouTube and no YouTube cookie is set. Once you play one, YouTube may set its own cookies under its policy — we use their privacy-enhanced domain to limit this.

Loaded from other domains

Three things on this site are fetched from somewhere other than quekey.com. Requesting a file necessarily reveals your IP address to whoever serves it, so they are listed here in full rather than described as "none".

• The Product Hunt badge in the footer is an image served by Product Hunt. It loads only once the footer is actually scrolled into view, and we send no referrer with the request. It sets no cookie on this site.
• Typefaces are served by Google Fonts. They are requested when the page loads, so Google receives your IP address and browser string. Google states that it sets no cookie for these requests.
• The analytics script described above is served from generalquery.xyz, our parent company's domain, and reports to the same place. Nothing about it is shared with a third party.

Managing cookies

Your browser can block or delete cookies for this site. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will prevent sign-in from completing.
